Colonial Steamships Ltd. of Port Colborne, Ontario, renamed the freighter Berryton to "Viscount Bennett" in March of 1942. She had a lenght of 505 feet, beam of 52 feet and depth of 30 feet with a deadweight carrying capacity of 10,500 tons.
