It’s Boxing Day where leftovers from the big Christmas Feast were traditionally boxed and distributed to the poor. So, I thought it would be appropriate to thank all the farmers who made our Christmas feast. Thanks! This photo was sent to us by Karen Jackman, it shows Gordon Alward, and Moe Melburn making hay on Eddie Turner’s farm in Riverside, in the late 50’s or early 60’s.

Wow, this photo is just so beautiful, showing a church in the Albertite Mining Section of Albert Mines. This church closed when the present one was built in 1900. It is believed it fell in on itself rather than being demolished about 1926-1928.

This photo was on a calendar from 1905. On the back was written “ Reverend Stanley Young, Methodist Minister Alma and Point Wolfe, his wife Marjorie Matthews who was staying with her uncle Thomas Matthews donated this photo, which was sent to her niece Lellia J. Downey of Lower Coverdale, A. Co.”

If you look closely there are two masted schooners at the wharf.
