Sadly, the Hillsborough Santa Claus Parade has been cancelled this year, although I hear Saint Nick is going to be making a drive though the village today. It also wasn’t looking good for a Santa Claus Parade Photo today, but thankfully Vaughn Snider came through with a whole collection from the 1996 Santa Claus Parade! (Not that we’re counting but that’s already 24 years ago!). So many people in the parade photos would have kids at the same age today, so be sure to click on the link to see the rest of the photos. Here is a great photo showing Blight’s Quarry in Hillsborough. This photo was taken in 1921.

Here is an interesting photo of the Salisbury & Albert Engine #2 at Hillsborough showing the result of a rear end collision near Hopewell Hill in 1909. You have to wonder at the series of events that lead to an accident on this line, as it couldn’t have been that busy.

Well I’ve waited a long time to use this photo. It’s December and 25 Days until Christmas! Here is a great photo of Len Lutes’s Truck loaded with Christmas Trees destined for the USA in 1964 This picture was taken in Parkindale.

Back to School Monday with a photo of the Point Wolfe school taken from the rear of the building. The Point Wolfe school served the sawmill community, and ceased to have any function when the mill village disappeared. Click on the link to see a photo of the rear of the school.

Back to Church Sunday with this a beautiful postcard from the NB Museum collection of the First Baptist Church in Hillsborough. Sadly this church burned shortly after this postcard was issued (circa 1910).

This is a beautiful postcard from the NB Museum collection looking on Hillsborough from Taylors Hill (Taylor’s Lane). The date on the Postcard is September 20, 1906 and the message reads today is 99°(F) in the shade!
