Sailing Sunday, imagine the fun we could have sailing on the bay! With the wind around Hopewell Cape it’d be fast!

Today we’re off to Grindstone Island in the middle of the Bay. With this photo of the second Grindstone lighthouse built in 1911-1912.

Back to School Monday, with a trip to Surrey School. The Surrey School stayed empty after 1961, and was torn down not long after this photo was taken in 1973.

Back to church Sunday, with a trip to the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Riverside-Albert.

Tomorrow, June 13 at 1pm, we are rededicating the cannons to the Citizens of Albert County. Here is a very early photo of the Victory Cannon from 1920. This photo was submitted a few years ago to the museum by Justin Raworth. Remember if you are unable to make it to the ceremony we will be broadcasting live on the Museum’s Facebook channel.
