Stephen Steeves on rail Tanker 100 at siding in Weldon, July 5, 1933. Stephen Steeves was a clerk in the gypsum company office when this picture was taken by Harold Toole at the siding in Weldon. Many will remember Stephen as president of the General Motors dealership Steeves Motors.
This seemed a natural place to take a picture since the Steeves home was close-by and Harold chummed with the boys. Tank car 100 was built in 1912. Specs painted on the tank gives its capacity as 6656 imperial gallons, light weight 39000 pounds. AK.12.32 was painted on the end. AK was the station symbol for Moncton Shops. December 1932 is when NB Gas & Oilfields bought the car. Rail car information supplied by Conrad Steeves. Photo and info submitter by Al Renton.
