Oil well #7, at the oil fields in Weldon. 1910. The Stoney Creek oil fields started producing crude oil and gas in 1909. In 1923, the production of crude oil in Albert County was 308,984 gallons, and 619,673 thousand feet of gas. By 1925, sixty-six wells had been bored in the Stoney Creek oil fields.

This photo is of the Meredith White under construction in Alma in 1918. The Meredith and its sister ship the Vincent (seen behind the Meredith) were built for C.T. White & Son Ltd. The ‘White Ships’ were skippered by Captain Trites, Captain Brown, and Captain Merriam. After they were launched they were loaded at Apple River, N.S. and sailed to South Africa.

Construction of railroad bridge in 1880 for the Salisbury - Albert Railway to cross over the Shepody River from Albert to Harvey. The Hon. Gaius Turner wanted to build an extension of the railway from Albert to Harvey because of the need to bring supplies to his shipyard in Harvey. In 1880 he received a $9,000 grant from the government to begin construction of the three mile extension from Albert to Harvey.
